Refining the Basics on the Wheel | 4-Part Course (October)

  • Wellington Potters Association 130 Grant Road Thorndon New Zealand (map)

4-PART COURSE | 22 & 26 OCTOBER, 5 & 12 NOVEMBER

Finished your beginners’ class and joined WPA but you’re still struggling with some of the basics? This class could help!

Over four sessions, beginners will be reminded of the basics but also be exposed to alternative ways of centring, pulling walls, and trimming vessels. There will be plenty of time to practice and find techniques that work best for you. Ingrid will go over the basics at the beginning of each session and then provide targeted advice to individuals to overcome challenges.

For the final class, students can agree on a particular shape or technique that Ingrid will demonstrate. This is a great opportunity to consolidate your learning in a supportive environment.

Course Schedule

Week 1: Reminder of throwing basics

Week 2: Reminder of trimming basics

Week 3: Continued practice

Week 4: Practice and specific object demo

Bisque and glaze firing is the responsibility of the students, as is managing the student’s pots between classes.
