Throwing with Paige Jarman
Wednesdays 6 to 8:30 pm for 6 weeks, starting 10 June (10, 17, 24 June, 1, 8, 15 July)
Learning throwing from amazing Paige Jarman. The focus for this course will be on mugs, but Paige will be teaching throwing techniques that can be applied to any type of work on the wheel. Suitable for beginners.
Working with colour: Slip decoration and techniques with Vivian Rodriguez
Thursdays 6 to 8:30 pm for 6 weeks starting 11 June (11, 18, 25 June, 2-9-16 July)
Learn how to work with colour to decorate thrown or handbuilt work with the talented and knowledgeable Vivian Rodriguez. Learn how to mix coloured slips to use for surface decoration using stains and oxides. Suitable for beginners.
Handbuilding Bootcamp with Peter Rumble
Mondays & Tuesdays 5:30 – 8 pm for 2 weeks starting 8 June (8, 9, 15, 16 June)
Learn handbuilding techniques from resident pro Peter Rumble. Handbuilding Bootcamp is an intensive course designed to present you with many of the basics of handbuilding. The aim is to learn techniques not to complete works. Learn how to prepare and alter clay, pinch, coil, slab, extruder and roller use, understanding shrinkage and clay care, joining techniques, drape and press moulding, mark-making, slip-making and application. Tetrahedron, cone and cylinder production…..and a lot more!
If sufficient interest this course may be run again in July.
CEC classes have been cancelled for term 2. They will begin again 28 July.
